The Union Gap School District personnel have the technical capability to place the facility in full lockdown or perimeter lockdown. The District can be placed in full lockdown by local law enforcement agencies and designated safety providers as well. The procedure can be verbally requested as well as electronically administered by those agencies. Perimeter lockdown allows staff and students to continue instruction/learning  in the building but not exit the building. The public will not be allowed to enter the school facility when it is in full or perimeter lockdown. 

School administration personnel will provide information in all district avenues (ClassDojo, District App, Facebook, Twitter) as soon as it is reasonably possible but never before they can deal with the situation and make sure all are safe. Please remember that information received outside of district communication is not always accurate.  Please rely on district communication only for information.  Never come to the school during a lockdown.  This places you and others at risk and further complicate responder’s efforts to secure the area(s) involved.
