How can I vote in the November 5, 2024 election?
Voting in Washington State is done by mail, and it’s easy!
No driving. No lines. No stamp required.
Simply register to vote, and you will receive a ballot in the mail around October 18 for the November 5 election. Mail back your filled out, signed ballot before November 5 (no stamp required), or drop it off at Union Gap City Hall.
How to register:
To register to vote in the state of Washington, you must be:
● A citizen of the United States
● A resident of Washington state
● At least 18 years old
● Not disqualified from voting due to a court order or prison sentence
It's easy and secure to register online, by mail with a paper form, or at the Yakima County Elections Office.

Check your registration at VoteWA.gov. There you can make sure that you’re registered and that your address and information are correct.

Today we practiced a lockdown with our Union Gap Police Department Chief of Police observing our classroom procedures. He was impressed and is also preparing to provide safety training to our staff during our professional development day on September 27.
The Washington State Department of Health has published the Safety Study Hall website (https://doh.wa.gov/community-and-environment/schools/safety-study-hall), a place for schools, students, and families to learn more about safety topics such as prevention strategies related to substance use, safe storage of prescription/over-the-counter medication, firearms, and ammunition as required by House Bill 1230.

We will be monitoring the weather, school grounds and local roads throughout the night and tomorrow morning for student and adult safety. Our hope is the weather will stop soon but in the meantime, we wanted to give families time to plan for the delay and possible closure of school tomorrow if the weather does not cooperate with clean up and safety efforts. We will make any additional decisions no later than 9 am tomorrow.
