Estimated Completion: Summer 2026 (Pending Bond Vote in November 2023)
Purpose: Our existing bond for the original construction of our school is expiring and with the passage of this bond in November 2023, the tax rate will be nearly the same or less than to what has been in place since 2009. This bond will allow the district to construct an additional gymnasium with restrooms, concessions and other support areas, and make infrastructure, health and safety improvements. Additionally, the district will be upgrading and/or improving the existing gymnasium, expand and upgrade parking areas, and acquire and install needed playground equipment & create a new hard top area for play. The School Board determined that these projects were necessary to improve the athletic facilities, outdated infrastructure and safety systems.
Cost Information:
No more than $10,930,000 for the total project
Taxes will be collected over a period of no more than 17 years
Tax rate will be $1.43 per $1000 of assessed value
Example cost for a $200,000 home/property would be $24 per month

Additional Information: Existing Building had portions of the school that had been in place since the district was established in 1890 and the last major renovation was in the early 80s. New school building was built within the same physical property in the previous playground & play field area.

Completion Date: Summer 2006
Additional Information: Union Gap School needed a transportation facility constructed to house district buses & vehicles.
