Bond Projects & Timeline

Location: Union Gap School

Project: Gymnasium Addition & Kitchen Expansion

Estimated Completion: Summer 2023 (Pending Bond Vote in February 2022)

Purpose: Passage of the bond in February 2022 will allow the district to construct an auxiliary gymnasium with restrooms, concessions and other support areas, and make infrastructure, health and safety improvements. Additionally the district will be upgrading and/or improving the existing gymnasium, expand and upgrade parking areas, and acquire and install needed playground equipment. The School Board determined that these projects were necessary to improve the athletic facilities, outdated infrastructure and safety systems.

Cost Information:

  • No more than $9,055,500 for the total project

  • Taxes will be collected over a period of no more than 15 years

  • Tax rate will be $1.43 per $1000 of assessed value

    • Example cost for a $100,000 home/property would be $11.92 per month

Previous Bond Projects

Location: Union Gap School

Project: Build new school building

Completion Date: Fall 2009

Additional Information: Existing Building had portions of the school that had been in place since the district was established in 1890 and the last major renovation was in the early 80s. New school building was built within the same physical property in the previous playground & play field area.

Location: Union Gap School Bus Garage

Project: Build new bus garage

Completion Date: Summer 2006

Additional Information: Union Gap School needed a transportation facility constructed to house district buses & vehicles.
