Teaching PE has been what I wanted to do since I was very young. When I was 5 my mom had a home daycare. I remember talking her into buying me a clipboard and whistle so when I came home from kindergarten I could take the daycare kids outside and teach them PE. I was determined from then on that I would get a degree in teaching and make a difference in kids lives.
I have lived in Yakima my whole life and attended Yakima public schools. After graduating high school I went to YVCC where I earned my associates degree. From there I moved briefly to Ellensburg where I attended CWU and earned my bachelors degree in health and fitness education. After almost two years of job searching I went back to CWU and earned my credentials in elementary education. I did substitute teaching for about a year and a half before being hired at Moxee Elementary teaching part time PE. I worked there for two years. I then got hired here at Union Gap School teaching 2nd grade. I taught 2nd grade for one year, transferred to middle school (7th/8th grade) PE for one year, then transferred to kindergarten-8th grade PE. I love every minute of it!
